PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia (DAIKIN) once again held the DAIKIN Proshop Designer Awards. Being the third year of this competition, DAIKIN held it under the theme RE:IMAGINE. "This theme is in accordance with the spirit it brings. To be able to increasingly become a place for the birth of architectural works and interior design that come from the process of re-imagining by placing the comfort of the air conditioning and the overall interior decor as a unified unity in the aesthetics of a space," said Ching Khim Huat as President Director of PT. Daikin Air Conditioning Indonesia.
Starting to open registration for participants on June 1, various developments will be carried out by DAIKIN. Included in it, the scope of participants is increasingly expanded by opening up opportunities for student work and the addition of the Food & Beverages (F&B) commercial building design category from the previous event that focuses more on housing.
While on the other hand, maintaining it as an annual prestigious event for the architecture and interior design community, DAIKIN collaborates with large associations that oversee these two professions. Namely the Indonesian Architects Association (IAI) and the Indonesian Interior Designers Association (HDII) Jakarta. Adding prestige to its implementation, big names in the field of architecture and interior design are also promoted to be part of the jury accompanying the evaluators from DAIKIN itself.
As a large annual agenda of the company, the DAIKIN Designer Award was born from the initial idea of opening up space for architectural and interior design activists to share the same vision of ideal housing. Not only attaches importance to the aesthetic aspect, but also complete with air conditioning solutions as a support for comfort and health that is in harmony with the overall interior decor of the room.
Widely known as a world-class AC specialist with almost a century of experience, DAIKIN itself has technology and innovation that is specially created as a company support for this ideal residential vision. This comes through the DAIKIN Home Central AC lineup which allows the simplification of installation related to piping because one outdoor unit can be connected to several indoor units as well as according to its cooling capacity.
Unlike single split AC, DAIKIN Home Central AC has various indoor unit designs. Such a design is deliberately made to be able to combine as well as add an elegant feel to the interior of each type of space according to its purpose. While supporting the users health, it is in its ability to maintain humidity levels and eliminate various particles that are harmful to health that float in the air in the room through layered filtration.
DAIKINs readiness as a technology provider is then expected to collaborate with architectural and interior design activists to further realize the vision of ideal residences in Indonesia that takes into account the aspect of creating comfortable and healthy air quality while maintaining its aesthetic aspects. "The growing collaboration between the two is necessary to be able to expand and spread inspiration to the Indonesian people about the vision of ideal housing through various works that grow in it," said Ching Khim Huat again.
Further related to the implementation of DAIKIN Designer Awards this year, there are six major categories in it. In addition to being divided according to the category of participants, students and professionals, DAIKIN also divides them into works that have been completed by applying DAIKIN Home Central AC products and conceptual design competitions whose assessments are divided into architectural works and interior design.
Adding prestige that will make this event even more interesting, two big names in the field of architecture and interior design are promoted to be part of the jury accompanying the assessors from DAIKIN itself. Tan Tik Lam who is known as a famous architect with a number of awards from home and abroad for example, will act as one of the judges for the finished project category. Meanwhile for the conceptual category, DAIKIN entrusts Alex Bayusaputro who is known as one of the big names in the world of Indonesian interior designers with various international class awards that he has won.
Besides the two big names from the two professions, DAIKIN also invited Sarwendah. Known as one of the countrys celebrities, the figure of Sarwendah will represent the views of the millennial generation. Related to his presence, Sarwendah will also be a special judge for two categories, namely conceptual works of interior design for residential and commercial buildings F&B chosen by Sarwendah. The works that are competed in this special category will be made based on the description of the needs of Sarwendahs own property.
Summarizing the whole of this event, there are 16 winning titles that are contested from the direct judging that will be held at the end of October. All awards will be delivered on the night of the 2023 DAIKIN Designer Awards appreciation which will be held on November 24th.
