Daikin Proshop Designer Award is back as an annual event for interior and architecture design activists held by PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia. The peak of the event was held on Tuesday, November 24, 2023 at the Westin Hotel, Jakarta.
This year Daikin has selected 18 winners from three main categories and three special categories that represent the best work among more than 350 participants who registered since the opening on Thursday, June 1, 2023.
Daikin collaborated with major associations, namely the Indonesian Architects Association (IAI) and the Indonesian Interior Designers Association (HDII), by carrying the theme RE:IMAGINE, making it a unique and challenging competition for the participants.
“We are very proud of the increasing number of participants as well as the variety of approaches used in the winning works,” said Shinji Miyata, President Director of Daikin, in his speech during the award night.
“Bringing enthusiasm for the growing idea of the birth of an ideal residence that provides comfort in space through the combination of aesthetics with air conditioning,” he explained.
The growth of this ideal residence idea is in line with the origin of the 3rd Daikin Designer Award. More than just a competition, the event intends to open up space for architecture and interior design enthusiasts to share the same vision of a residence that not only focuses on aesthetic aspects.
In fact, the completeness of air conditioning solutions as a support for comfort and health that harmonizes with the overall interior decor of the room is also very important.
Daikin offers a variety of technologies and innovations in its product lines, one of which is becoming a global AC specialist with almost a century of experience. They offer the Daikin Home Central AC line, which allows simplified installation related to piping because one outdoor unit can be connected to several indoor units at the same time, according to its cooling capacity.
Daikin Home Central AC also has various indoor unit designs. They are designed in such a way as to blend seamlessly and add an elegant feel to the interior of each space according to its purpose.
New Concept!
DDA 2023 introduces several categories, including The Most Photogenic Restaurant Design 2023, Finished Project Architecture, Finished Project Interior Design, Conceptual Interior Design Residential for Students and Professionals, Conceptual Interior Design F&B for Students and Professionals, and Sarwendah Choice.
This year, DDA held an architectural and interior design competition session in collaboration with Sarwendah. For the residential interior, Sarwendah house with her husband and three children, located in BSD City Cluster Kanade at The Zora Type 10 with an area of 200 square meters, was the challenge. Meanwhile, for the interior layout of commercial space, the challenge was just as demanding.
Known for her family-friendly content and having three children, Sarwendah wanted each child to have their own room with colors that match their preferences.
For Sarwendah, the house is also a place for shooting, so every corner must be aesthetically pleasing, even down to the F&B section, which craves a Japanese-themed concept.
Based on Sarwendah business premises located at Ruko Daikanyama The Zora BSD, Tangerang, this challenge had a high level of difficulty, as participants were tasked with designing the entire interior of a building that consisted of two shophouses (ruko) combined into one, with three floors and a rooftop, covering a total area of 200 square meters.
